SUMMARY:Pre ILCA 4 Worlds High Performance Camp
DESCRIPTION:Pre-Clinic Entry Experience\nThe Pre ILCA 4 Worlds High Performance Camp is designed to give sailors\, who are active in their National Youth Sailing circuits or preparing for the 2026 ILCA 4 World Championships\, a strong platform to sharpen their skills and gain valuable experience. \nWhat’s involved\nThe Pre ILCA 4 Worlds High Performance Camp is designed to equip young sailors with the essential skills for success in all key areas of racing. The programme includes boat preparation with the latest class developments\, fine-tuning sail settings\, and mastering advanced boat handling skills such as roll-tacking\, roll-gybing\, and mark roundings. Training will also focus on developing both upwind and downwind speed through targeted sessions and extensive video analysis. In addition\, sailors will refine their starting techniques in big fleets\, a vital skill when competing at the Worlds. \nSailCoach has long believed in the value of multi-national training\, a concept we pioneered many years ago. This High Performance Camp delivers intensive training\, giving sailors the chance to push themselves against international competitors while being guided by experienced ILCA coaches\, including former members of the Team SailCoach Olympic squad. \nEach day’s schedule blends classroom sessions with on-the-water exercises that encourage healthy competition\, followed by debriefs focusing on tactical and strategic situations. Sailors will also benefit from individual feedback\, both on the water and through detailed video analysis. \nA Typical Day at the Valencia SailBase \nThe day begins with a physical training warm-up\, led by our strength and conditioning coach. These sessions are tailored to the sailors’ age group and fitness level\, with safety always a top priority. \nAfter breakfast\, the sailing coaches begin with a debrief on the previous day’s training\, picking out the key lessons and areas for improvement. They then outline the plan for the day’s activities\, highlighting the main focus points and adjusting the programme to suit the prevailing weather conditions. Depending on the forecast\, the coaches may run one longer on-water session or divide the training into two shorter ones. \nOnce back ashore\, the strength and conditioning coach leads a cool-down routine\, which might include stretching\, recovery exercises\, or even an ice bath or swim. Later. \nEvenings are kept lighter\, with some days offering activities such as go-karting\, ten-pin bowling\, or escape rooms\, while on other days sailors simply relax and recharge before heading to bed\, ready to start fresh the next morning.\n \nProgram:\n22nd of July 2026: (arrival day)\nArrive into Valencia Airport (VLC) between 08:00 hrs and 22:00 hrs and be met by one of SailCoach’s friendly staff. They will take you to the Reial Club Nàutic de València\, the venue for this Pre ILCA 4 Worlds High Performance Camp. \n23rd to 31st of July 2026:\nThe Pre ILCA 4 Worlds High Performance Camp daily schedule will start each morning with a group briefing at 10:00hrs in the Reial Club Nàutic de València and finish at 18:00hrs. \n1st of August 2026: (departure day)\nSailCoach staff will drop you off at Valencia Airport between 08:00 hrs and 22:00 hrs for your journey home\, or you can fly with Team SailCoach to the Worlds after some quality training. For transportation from Valencia to Denmark\, we are arranging for the sailors to travel together on the same flight from Valencia to Aarhus\, accompanied by one of our coaches. On arrival at Aarhus Airport\, a SailCoach minibus will be waiting to transfer them directly to the Aarhus International Sailing Centre\, the venue for the ILCA 6 Worlds. \nWe hope the above will maximise enjoyment and progression whilst balancing the need to have as much time on the water training.
