It offers up to one month of intensive training\, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s best ILCA coaches\, practice with skilled training partners\, and focus on your fitness with our in-house coach. With a mix of U21 and full-time ILCA 7 sailors\, which all adds up to SailCoach providing an ideal learning environment. \nIf you can’t commit to a full month\, no worries! You’re welcome to join us for a week or two to sharpen your skills and stay updated on the latest techniques in the class. You’ll also get a taste of the professional ILCA sailor’s lifestyle\, which can be quite eye-opening for most ILCA sailors \nWhat to Expect at BaseCamp:\nAt BaseCamp\, you’ll stay for up to a month at one of our SailBases or regatta sites. This gives you a chance to experience the life of an Olympic sailor\, following a daily routine that involves sailing\, fitness\, briefings\, protein shakes\, and getting a good night’s rest. \nDiverse Learning Focus:\nBaseCamps offer a broad focus\, designed mainly for ILCA 7 athletes preparing for an important regatta. What’s great about BaseCamp is that you’ll encounter various weather conditions during your month-long stay\, helping you adapt to different sailing conditions and challenges. \nProfessional Training:\nDuring BaseCamp\, you’ll live the life of a true ILCA professional. You’ll work closely with a coach for an extended period\, allowing you to perfect specific techniques. The training sessions also involve friendly competition with other ILCA training partners\, making it even more rewarding. \nFitness Benefits:\nOur in-house strength and conditioning coach will guide you through workouts twice a day. This helps improve fitness levels and can address any body weight goals you may have. \nBecoming Part of the SailCoach Family:\nBaseCamp isn’t just about training; it’s about building connections. You’ll form friendships with fellow sailors and coaches. We’re a diverse team\, living\, eating\, exercising\, and sailing together\, which exposes you to different cultures. These friendships and cultural interactions are invaluable for your personal and sailing development. \nLanguage Development:\nAt Team SailCoach\, we speak English as our primary language. All coaching and interactions are conducted in English. This provides BaseCamp sailors with an excellent opportunity to improve their language skills. Many participants return home with a significantly enhanced vocabulary. \nWhat You Can Expect \n•  Access to good training partners\n•  Informal discussion after training sessions or over dinner\n•  Debrief Video Analysis of your sailing\n•  Shuttle to and from a top class and well equipped gym\n•  Take part in local cycling sessions (you will need your own road bike)\n•. Quality time with our in house strength and conditioning coach\n•  Advice on what your next steps should be in sailing… \nA typical day\nEvery day at BaseCamp kicks off differently based on the BaseCamp location. You might start with a physical training session to warm up\, either before or after breakfast. Our fitness coach will lead these sessions\, making sure the exercises are suitable for your age group and safety is a priority. \nThen\, it’s time for the coaches morning briefing or the debrief from the day before. They’ll outline the day’s sailing plans and what they aim to cover\, considering the current weather conditions. Depending on where we are and the weather forecast\, we might have one longer session instead of two shorter ones. After lunch\, there’s a debrief about the day’s sailing. \nAfter sailing\, our fitness coach takes over\, leading a gym session and a cool-down\, which might even include an ice bath or swim. You’ll also have some downtime in the evening to unwind before the next exciting day begins! \nIf you have a study or work schedule to consider\, we’re flexible. You can join the BaseCamp program for two or three weeks instead of the usual month. We’re here to make it work for you!

SUMMARY:ILCA Clinic at OptiOrange (Valencia)
DESCRIPTION:Our High-Performance ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 OptiOrange Clinics provide older siblings with the opportunity to train while their younger siblings participate in the OptiOrange regatta. This clinic will provide a platform for sailors who consistently rank within the top 20% of their National fleet or aspire to become a National Team sailor. This intensive eight-day clinic is designed specifically for talented club sailors aged 15 and above\, offering them ILCA-specific training tailored to their individual needs with ample opportunities to sail against international sparring partners. \nWhat to Expect:\nDuring this clinic\, we will focus on enhancing boat preparation with the latest developments in the class\, refining sail settings\, and mastering advanced boat handling skills such as roll-tacking\, roll-gybing\, and mark roundings. The ILCA Clinic will delve into developing upwind and downwind speed with comprehensive video analysis. \nAt SailCoach\, we strongly believe in the value of multi-national training\, which we pioneered years ago. This intense week of training will provide sailors with an opportunity to challenge themselves against competitors from other countries. They will be coached by the most experienced ILCA dinghy coaches\, including coaches who have been part of the Team SailCoach squad at various Olympics. \nThe daily schedule of the clinic combines classroom lessons and on-the-water exercises\, fostering healthy competition. Each day concludes with tactical and strategic debriefings. Sailors will receive individual attention both on the water and through detailed video analysis. \nA Typical Day:\nThe day will kick off with a physical training warm-up session conducted by our in-house fitness coaches. Safety and age-appropriate exercises are prioritised to ensure the well-being of the participating sailors. Following the warm-up\, the coach will brief the sailors on the day’s sailing sessions\, highlighting specific areas of focus based on the prevailing weather conditions. \nAfter lunch\, there will be a debrief on the morning session\, followed by a briefing for the afternoon session. Depending on the venue and weather forecast\, the coach may opt for a single extended session instead of two shorter sessions. \nPost-sailing\, our strength and conditioning coach will lead a cool-down session\, which may include activities like an ice bath or swim\, depending on the venue. There will be another debrief on the day’s activities either before or after dinner\, allowing some evening relaxation before gearing up for the next exciting day. \nSailCoach is thrilled to offer this ILCA OptiOrange Clinic\, where you’ll have the chance to meet fellow sailors from around the world who share your passion for the sport. Lifelong friendships in sailing await you! \nProgram:\n22nd of February to 3rd March 2025:\nThe ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 OptiOrange Clinic daily schedule will start each morning with a group briefing at 10:30hrs at the Reial Club Nàutic de València and finish at 17:30hrs.
