DESCRIPTION:Three Regattas – One Seamless Experience\nJoin SailCoach this summer for three world-class Optimist regattas on the iconic Lake Garda\, Italy. From the 4th to the 14th of August 2025\, your child can take part in a high-performance racing tour backed by our 30 years of coaching expertise. Our Lake Garda Coaching Tour is designed to offer Optimist sailors the chance to compete at three major events while benefiting from continuous guidance\, technical development\, and a fun\, team-oriented experience throughout the Grand Optimist Tour.\n\nThe Grand Optimist Tour will take place across three premier clubs located along the shores of Lake Garda\, each offering distinct racing challenges and experiences: \n\n\nGold Cup \n4th to 6th August 2025 \nHosted by Fraglia Vela Riva\, Riva del Garda \n\n\nOra Cup 2025 \n8th to 10th August 2025 \nHosted by Circolo Vela Arco\, Arco \n\n\nTrofeo Simone Lombardi \n12th to 14th August 2025 \nHosted by Fraglia Vela Malcesine\, Malcesine \n\n\nThis series of regattas provides a rare opportunity for young Optimist sailors to race in different parts of Lake Garda in a short timeframe\, helping them gain confidence and adaptability\, two key skills in high-level racing. \nDay Coaching Package\nWhen you sign up with SailCoach\, you’ll receive professional\, structured coaching each day of the regattas and in between events. Each sailor is placed in a small support group with a target ratio of six sailors per coach\, ensuring close individual attention. Our coaches\, many with Olympic-level experience\, focus on providing on-the-water and boat park support\, pre-race briefings\, video analysis\, and daily debriefs.\nThe Day Coaching Tour package includes: \n\n\nDaily morning briefings to review weather and racing strategy for the day \n\n\nOn-the-water coaching over the training days and each regatta day \n\n\nTowing support to/from the racecourse when needed \n\n\nSailCoach coach boats will carry spare parts\, food\, and warm gear \n\n\nPost-race debriefs (group or one-on-one) with video feedback\, where applicable \n\n\nProtest support and performance evaluations \n\n\nSmall coaching groups (maximum six sailors per coach) for personalised attention \n\n\nYou also have the option to rent an Optimist boat from SailCoach at a discounted rate\, depending on availability. \nSchedule Overview\n\n\n3rd August – Recommended arrival day in the Lake Garda area \n\n\n4th–6th August – Gold Cup\, Riva del Garda \n\n\n7th August – Rest and tuning day (sail between clubs) \n\n\n8th–10th August – Ora Cup 2025\, Arco \n\n\n11th August – Rest/preparation day (sail between clubs) \n\n\n12th–14th August – Trofeo Simone Lombardi\, Malcesine \n\n\nCoaching will be provided only on regatta and designated coaching days. This milestone regatta is a cornerstone of Irish sailing and promises a fantastic blend of competitive racing and community spirit. Set against the backdrop of Belfast Lough’s dynamic conditions\, the event draws top ILCA talent from across Ireland and beyond. With decades of tradition and a strong racing pedigree\, Ballyholme YC offers SailCoach athletes the chance to develop their racing skills on a technical and challenging racecourse\, all within a supportive and well-organised championship environment. \nAs we celebrate our 30th year\, SailCoach continues to lead the way with our Coaching Models\, providing specialist\, on-the-water support during this key regatta. With three decades of experience\, you can rely on us to deliver the confidence\, structure\, and high-level guidance needed for success. Our Day Coaching service at this year’s ILCA Irish Nationals is designed for sailors who have already taken care of their own regatta entry\, accommodation\, and logistics but want professional race day support. You’ll work with one of our experienced coaches\, often with Olympic-level credentials\, in a small group setting\, typically no more than six sailors per coach\, ensuring personalised feedback and tactical insights. For added convenience\, SailCoach also offers ILCA Dinghy charter boats for rent. \nLearning Goals\nAt the 2025 ILCA Irish Nationals\, the SailCoach team will focus on improving your regatta preparation skills. Our coaches will work with you daily\, setting up a structured plan and goals for the upcoming regatta. You’ll learn important details about preparing for events\, ensuring you’re informed and ready. \nAdditionally\, our coaches will teach you how to adapt to different weather conditions and handle the pressures of high-level competition. A big part of this will be developing and using effective race strategies. You’ll get better at analysing races and refining your tactics\, with our coaches giving you helpful feedback and showing you how to assess your own performance. This coaching will prepare you to compete like leading athletes prepare. \nSuccess in sports doesn’t happen overnight\, it requires a lot of time and effort. With our coaching\, you will have learned the right ways to prepare for a championship. Therefore\, we recommend you continue to train and compete regularly to hone these techniques and skills. \nA typical day\nThe day would start with a morning briefing\, looking over the weather forecasting and communicating anything important from the coaches meeting and specific points to note for the days racing. The SailCoach coaches will offer you coaching support afloat\, such as towing if necessary\, to get to the starting line. Carry any bags with food and spare parts\, along with a jacket to keep warm between races. \nThe day finishes with a post-race debrief and discussion of the day’s events. In some cases\, our coaches will make briefings individually\, going around the boat park before or after racing\, depending on the circumstances. We advise our sailors to settle any protest differences on the water or in the boat park when possible. However\, we will be there to support you during protests if all else fails. \nNumbers will be limited on this coaching tour\, so you are advised to book early.\n \nRegatta Day Coaching:  \nAbout our ILCA Irish Nationals coaching support program. The “day coaching” option is for young sailors who would like to stay with their parents and have our coaching staff look after everything on the water. The “day coaching” package offers wide-ranging regatta support and includes a morning briefing\, on-water coaching support\, and a debrief at the end of each day. \nThe Program:\n \n11th of August 2025\nArrive at Belfast International Airport (BFS) or George Best Belfast City Airport (BHD)\, and be met by SailCoach’s friendly coaching staff member\, who will take you to Ballyholme\, the venue for this year’s Irish Nationals. \n12th and 14th of August 2025\nDuring familiarisation days\, SailCoach will be training at the regatta venue for three days before the event. It gives sailors a chance to get over jet lag and gain valuable knowledge of the area. Our coaches will help you develop a “Game Plan” strategy and provide you with video analysis that may perfect your boat handling and speed.\n\nHaving the right preparation is a must when going into an important event. These pre-regatta days will also help you get to know our coaches\, a significant advantage when racing begins. \n15th to the 17th of August 2025\nRacing starts in the 2025 ILCA  Irish Nationals\, in what promises to be a tough event\, ahead lies three days of racing\, However\, don’t worry\, SailCoach’s experienced coaching staff will be there with you giving you all the support you need on and off the water to help you reach your goals. \nILCA  Irish Nationals Day Coaching Package\nThe “day coaching” package is for young sailors who would like to stay with their parents and have our coaching staff look after everything on the water. Led by experienced coaches renowned for their ability to inspire and prepare young sailors\, this clinic takes place at our Valencia SailBase\, offering optimal sailing conditions year-round. With top of the range Winner Optimists and specialised coaching\, participants will gain valuable hours on the water to enhance their speed and sailing techniques. \nObjectives:\nWe understand that high performance comes from dedicated hours on the water. Our clinic aims to provide precisely that\, with expert coaches guiding sailors to become smarter and faster Optimist sailors. Through on the water drills to improve boat handling\, focused racing training to enhance race strategy\, video analysis with targeted feedback\, and engaging learning experiences\, we’ll equip participants with the skills and knowledge to excel. \nLead Coach\nWe’ve partnered with Pavlo Dontsov\, a renowned Optimist coach widely recognised for his coaching expertise. He won the prestigious 2023 Seamaster Award at the Düsseldorf Boat Show for outstanding work with his Ukraine Optimist sailors.\n\nPavlo is an Optimist coach from Ukraine living in Valencia and was the coach of last year’s top sailor\, Sviatoslav Madonich. Under Pavlo’s guidance\, his team has achieved top podium finishes in the most important international Optimist regattas. \n\nPre-Entry Experience:\nThis clinic is tailored for boys and girls aged 8 to 15 who have been racing for at least two years and are ready to embark on international competition or enhance their sailing skills for success on their national circuit. \nProgram: August 13th – 17th\, 2025 \nEach day begins with a group briefing at 10:00 a.m. at the Real Club Nàutic de València dinghy sailing base.
